The initial meeting of PP SET COP established that there is an interest and a need for this type of collegial support and professional learning. Many topics relevant to SET Departments were discussed at our September meeting, with participants sharing and learning from experiences of colleagues in other schools.

We propose to hold another SET Post-Primary Community of Practice Meeting via Zoom, on Tuesday 10th November from 7-8pm.

We are now inviting topics to be included on the agenda for this meeting. Suggestions previously put forward to discuss at our November meeting were RACE Guidelines and Evidence-Based Interventions and Programmes in use in our schools, along with other possible ideas.

If anyone would like to contribute further ideas or suggest other topics to discuss and add to the agenda, please forward them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Community of Practice meeting for Primary SENCOs and SETs
Date : 4th March 2021

Time:  4- 5pm

We invite all teachers working in Special Education in primary schools to come together informally, to discuss and share experience, knowledge and resources about our roles in schools. We aim to provide an opportunity to enhance our learning and knowledge and to share experience and resources so that we can support each other. We hope to meet regularly going forward as a Community of Practice and we would love your input so we can book speakers and make this venture as supportive, practical and useful as possible.

Community of Practice for Special Class Teachers ( Primary)

Teachers in Special classes are often the only one (or two)of their kind in their school.
This means it can be difficult to access peer support from teachers in similar situations.
This group is where we can find that support.
It is a community of teachers, working in special class settings, meeting to discuss all things "Special Class"and to help and advise one another.
We will meet once per half term, usually on the 2nd Monday following our return from the holiday/break
The inaugural meeting will take place on Monday 1st March, followed by meetings on 19th April and Monday 24 May at 7pm
