SEN Hour- Positive Behaviour Strategies: To Reduce and Eliminate Behaviour That Challenges
This webinar will be of particular interst to Teachers and SNAs working with students who present with behaviours that challenge and to parents of children with challenging behaviours.

Strategies to support students with Intellectual Disabilities will also be explored.

The webinar will focus on:


  • practical, evidence-based strategies to support student/child positive behaviour.
  • understanding behaviour and the triggers that cause particular behaviours.
  • understanding how to carry out effective observations and their implementation in supporting student/child positive behaviour.
  • explore techniques on how to create a safe and stimulating environment to reduce/eliminate behaviours that challenge.
  • discuss positive techniques for dealing with challenging behaviour/s   Being equipped with these tools helps promote positive behaviour and self-regulation across a range of environments.

Facilitator: Sophie Cole BA in Early Years and Childhood Studies (UCC). Honours Degree in Primary Education (UK) and founder of Positive Beings.

Sophie works as a Special Education Teacher and has a number of years’ experience teaching in a mainstream primary and special school setting.

She tutors the Special Needs Assistant (SNA) Course – (QQI Level 6) and has managed Pre-school and Early Years Centres.

Her business, Positive Beings, works with children with moderate, severe and profound intellectual disabilities and those who present with behaviours that challenge.
