The number of children with anxiety has risen over the last number of years, for many complex reasons. Anxiety can have different symptoms, and usually causes distress to children and also limits their experiences. It’s helpful to know that there are many things we can do to support an anxious child, including striking a balance between supporting them whilst also empowering them to deal with their anxious thoughts and feelings. This webinar will outline the protective factors in supporting children, as well as offering a number of evidence-based coping strategies that children can use to help them to feel safe, strong and confident.

Fiona Forman is an international author, speaker, facilitator and teacher-trainer in the area of well-being and Positive Psychology in education.
Fiona holds an M. Sc. in Applied Positive Psychology, the science of well-being, from the University of East London.
Having spent over 30 years as a primary school teacher, she is passionate about placing well-being at the heart of school life, and she has seen first-hand the many benefits this brings. She is the co-author of Weaving Well-Being, an SPHE programme for children from 7 to 12 years which is now in use internationally. Fiona is also the author of Wired for Well-Being, a new well-being programme for second level schools. Her junior programme, Welcome to Well-Being, has just been released in Ireland and will shortly be available internationally.
Fiona is also the mother of two young adults, and has this has deepened her awareness of the need to equip our young people with the skills they need to flourish and thrive in life.
