Promoting Reading for Pleasure in the classroom

The purpose of this course is to reflect upon the importance of Reading for Pleasure, and its significance in students’ lives as lifelong readers. Participants will explore contemporary research and practices associated with Reading for Pleasure. Practical methodologies will be shared, and participants will have the opportunity to share practices with one another.

Learning outcomes: 

Reflect on their current knowledge of Reading for Pleasure and classroom practices.

Identify and appreciate the importance of Reading for Pleasure for students.

Explore and analyse practices which can be used to promote Reading for Pleasure at a classroom and whole school level.
