The Middle Leader - A Key Member of the School Community

 

MIDDLE LEADERTarget Group: Teachers who currently hold or aspire to positions of leadership in primary and post primary schools

The course will address the following themes:
• Defining Middle Leadership
• Models of Leadership and their application
• Establishing and creating a vision for the role of the middle leader
• Leading teams
• Planning
• Managing meetings
• Managing conflict
• Preparing for Interviews

The course will have a practical focus and will provide opportunities for participants to engage in discussion and share good practice.

This course will take place over three sessions.

The Learning Outcomes are:

Session One:
• Defining Middle Leadership
• Models of Leadership and their application
• Establishing and creating a vision for the role of middle leader

Session Two:
• Leading and supporting teams
• Applying for Posts of Responsibility (including the application process and interview techniques

Session Three:
• An introduction to School Self Evaluation and how participants can engage with it regarding their personal initiatives in school.
• Managing conflict
Help teachers develop effective skills and skills for conflict management.
