Early intervention in literacy- How, Why and What Next?

A practical course looking at the benefits of early intervention in the Infant Classes. How to identify those in need of early intervention in literacy, why it is important to identify them and what to do when you discover who they are.

Learning Outcomes

• To help teachers recognise the importance of Early Intervention in literacy when working with young children
• To give examples of areas that can be assessed in early literacy in order to determine priority needs in literacy within the infant classroom
• To discuss methods to intervene with early literacy difficulties in order to help children make progress
