This two-part series provides a comprehensive look at how ADHD presents in girls and women, which is often different from the stereotypical male presentation. The course will explore why girls are frequently underdiagnosed and share practical, gender-specific strategies to support their unique challenges and strengths.

Define ADHD: Understand the core symptoms of ADHD and how they manifest in girls and women, including gender-specific presentations of inattention and hyperactivity.

Challenge Myths & Stereotypes: Participants will be able to identify and challenge common misconceptions and stereotypes about ADHD, particularly those that hinder the diagnosis and support of girls.

Recognize Gender Differences: Explore the key differences in how ADHD presents in girls versus boys, including the reasons for late diagnosis and misdiagnosis.

Identify Masking: Recognize the phenomenon of "masking" and how girls with ADHD often develop coping mechanisms that hide their struggles, leading to burnout and internal distress.

Understand Hormonal Impact: Learn how hormonal fluctuations throughout the lifespan (puberty, menstrual cycles, pregnancy, menopause) can significantly impact ADHD symptoms.
