Retrieval Practice and how to use it in the classroom

In this course I will look at some of the principles involved with retrieval practice and share some resources that I have developed and look at some of the benefits and potential pitfalls of using them.

I have been a teacher for 23 years. Firstly at a number of schools in England including a Catholic Boys' school, a Girls' grammar school and a very large comprehensive. The last ten years have been spent teaching in Scotland. Throughout that time I have been a teacher of history and RE. I have held head of department and pastoral roles. Over the last 2 years I have been working on retrieval practice and have been creating, trialling and implementing resources and practice in the classroom.
