The final Community of Practice for Post-Primary Teachers of English, for this academic year, will take place on Tuesday 7 May 2024 @ 7pm, focusing on the dual thematic concepts of light and dark in William Shakespeare’s ‘King Lear,’ with guest presenter Julian Girdham.

This session will focus on a textual analysis of William Shakespeare’s ‘King Lear,’ a prescribed text on the 2025 Leaving Certificate English course. Julian will focus on the fundamental ideas that underpin Shakespeare’s text, that revolve around the concepts of light and dark in the text. This Community of Practice session will be of great benefit for those teachers currently teaching ‘King Lear’ and who are looking for deeper understandings of the text, for the benefit of their students.
The session will last for approximately one hour and is aimed at all post-primary teachers of English.
