This course is aimed at schools interested in setting up a new ASD class. Ramsgrange Community School in Wexford have opened two ASD Classes since 2018. Rachel O’Connor (Principal) and Orlaigh Kent (ASD Class Co-ordinator) will speak about their experience and endeavor to answer any questions schools may have.
It will cover:
- Some of the challenges faced by students in mainstream schools
- Considerations and conversations to have when setting up a class
- Steps involved in opening a new class
- Day to day life and planning for the class
- Challenges and benefits
