Topics to be Covered

• Dyslexia and how it affects students at second level.

• The principles underlying the strategies that help the students.

• Classroom planning/resources/strategies for the teacher with some SEN classes. In particular a plan for the year’s classwork for a SEN group is outlined.

• Study skills for the student with dyslexia.

The 3 key intended professional learning outcomes for participants

1. Teachers will understand how valuable the SEN class can be to students with learning difficulties.
2. They will be shown many practical resources that could be used in the class, including many which are free to download.
3. They will show a template which they can  adapt which shows how to plan  classwork over the year with a SEN group.
