By the end of this workshop you will be able to:
- Gain insight into the neuroscience behind big feelings and why they happen
- Explore the connection between the brain, stress responses, and emotional regulation.
- Identify supportive strategies to help co-regulate and respond calmly to heightened emotions.
- Practice simple emotional regulation techniques that can be used in everyday settings.
Facilitator: Shauna Maxwell
Shauna is a Play Therapist with a background in social care. She has over 10 years experience working with children and families in the areas of fostering, residential units, addiction services and school completion. She has extensive knowledge around trauma and the impact of trauma on individuals. Shaune previously offered support to children specifically around the areas of managing anxiety, aggression, emotional regulation, building self esteem, grief and loss, separation/divorce whilst also providing support to parents in how to manage different behaviours that arise with their children.
